5 months agoHe is inside the shop he locked the door. I knock the door for 3 mins. He didn’t open the door its 10:08 am. Yesterday also the same problem. Please off at maps don’t waste our time please

5 months agoOne of the better falafel wraps in the area. Highly recommend visiting. I hope that more people visit and the business can grow so there are more offerings and such. It feels like they have had to scale back so I hope people visit and support this delicious restaurant.

5 months agoUnfortunately, my experience at Shawarma guys in Alexandria was very disappointing. The food did not taste good at all, and after eating I had a bad stomach ache. It was not a pleasant experience, and I would not recommend this place to others.

5 months agoAbsolutely would NOT RECOMMEND if you want to be treated like a human. I walked in, store was empty, and greeted the cashier and no greeting was returned. I asked him for the price of a sandwich since I hadn’t seen a price on the menu. He pointed to the menu then proceeded to walk away. I tried asking a follow up, but the member hastily turned his back towards me. I did not feel like a customer at all, and considering that it was lunch, and I was on a fixed time schedule, I had no time to deal with rude service and I simply took my business elsewhere.

6 months agoWhat even is this place? I was craving a chicken shawarma wrap. Only similar spots I’ve been to are in NYC and George’s in DC which is my favorite. Finally caved in to eat local. Upon arrival I see a man outside a couple doors down yapping aggressively loud. Mind you it’s lunch rush time yet the place was completely empty. A few minutes later an older Hispanic woman finally pops out to greet me at the same time the unruly man from outside stepped in. He immediately walks up to me and begins asking for my order to put in the touchpad at the cashier stand. I was completely thrown off, thinking this was some random stranger who never even introduced himself and is now asking me for what I want and for payment. Um hello?? Upon payment, he barks the order to the lady and goes back and forth with hand gestures bc clearly this woman did not speak a lick of English. Got the chicken wrap with fries and requested a side of the garlic whip—one thing that I specifically asked for in abundance and paid extra. The woman proceeds to throw the tiny straw size fries in a small indoor fryer you’d buy off Amazon. Other reviewers definitely got average or normal sized fries. But seriously do they not have a legitimate industrial fryer? Got my order and dipped out. Fries were undercooked and soggy, as expected. Wrap was edible but less than mediocre, and also soggy. I’m mostly mad at the size of the garlic whip they gave me. That’s just insulting. All that for nearly $20. 1/10 all around experience.

8 months agoFirst time trying this restaurant and it was excellent. Their chicken shawarma sandwich was delicious, very generous portions, fresh salad and toppings to choose from. Will try their falafel next time and look into their catering option.

a year agoMy husband picked up carryout. From what I understand, the staff was friendly (gave him a free falafel), but the food was far from expectations. I ordered: Falafel bowl with salad base, black olives, cucumbers, sumac onions, pickles, extra feta, parsley, tzatziki, and hummus. They told my husband that they were out of olives and feta... which, fine? I had some at home (added Kalamatas and hunk before realizing the amount of onions). They somehow thought tzatziki was garlic sauce, that I wanted those bitter pink radishes, and that a fist-full of two different types of onion (more than the lettuce, in volume) is what anyone wants to eat. (About 80% of provided onions in pile in photo.) Plus two stale tortillas instead of pita. AND THEY CHARGED HIM $15 FOR IT. IT SAYS $9.99 ON THE MENU. As far as atmosphere, dining in, etc., I don't know. I've walked past numerous times and never seen anyone dining in.

5 years agoLove this restaurant and its food. The food is just right. Not too much spices. I love middle eastern food and I had tried many places in the NOVA area but this is definitively the best by far. I visited with my wife and she also was impressed by the food. The owner is very kind and attentive to the details. Portions are generous and it has a great varey of dishes. The hummus is fantastic and the bread is very good. It worth a try.
